Oh, beautiful emerald.

I’m sure by now you've heard that Emerald is the color of the year. Pantone describes it as, “a lively, radiant, lush green.”

I've never been a huge fan of the dark family of greens like hunter and emerald. I've never been one to jump on the bandwagon, however, I have seen some nice uses of the color lately and it’s grown on me a little.

For those of you who want to embrace the color of the year I put together a mood board that introduces the color in the accessories and I also searched around to see what is in stores and found quite a few things.

Without further ado - Pantones Color of the Year emerald!

The Freckled Redhead - Color of the Year Emerald

I think of emerald as a rich, deep color and goes great paired with a deep rich blue. I also like it paired with some natural woods and grays. The mo-ped art is awesome and brings in a few more pops of color.

The best way to add ‘it’ colors to your décor is through accessories like lamps and pillows. You can easily interchange both items. If you get tired of the pattern you can get a pillow cover and spray paint can transform a lamp really quick.

Here are some great ways to incorporate emerald into your everyday décor using these different accessories. Nate Berkus was all over the color of the year before they even announced it - you go boy!

Great minds must think alike because Anthro was pairing the emerald green with a nice cobalt blue. I personally love the two colors together.

What are your thoughts on the new color - love it or hate it?
